Armah David, known professionally as ARMAH (nickname Mr. G) is a rapper, songwriter, DJ and record executive. Born and raised in Harlem, New York, Armah also grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, and Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa where his family is from. Armah found music at a very young age ghostwriting for local talent in his neighborhood. In high school he and his older brother formed a rap group, and performed at various talent shows throughout Boston, and later they secured a record deal with a popular local independent label. They released one project, but his brother and the other two members graduated high school and decided to pursue athletics.

With the rest of his group gone, Armah never gave up on music, instead as he went into his sophomore year of high school while working on a solo music project he discovered the love for DJing. One of his neighborhood friend’s was also pursuing DJing and they decided to join forces and started the popular sound system/DJ group, Undertaker Sound. With international backgrounds they gained massive popularity in the Caribbean communities, and for about 10 years was one of the top young DJ duos on the east coast.

Armah still worked on his music on the side, featured on some mixtapes, and continued to ghostwrite for other artists. With his DJ popularity, he later also started to manage other artists. He helped launch the careers of Boston based singing group Ahmir, and Houston based hip-hop artist Young Twinn. In 2009 Armah secured a partnership with Mark Pitts and Jive Records/Sony Music for the debut of Young Twinn into the mainstream market. In 2011 Jive Records went under and everyone decided to go their separate ways, and Young Twinn eventually took an early retirement from the music industry.

With all the twists and turns, and learning curves of the entertainment industry, Armah still didn’t give up on it, instead he grew his management brand and independent label Undertaker Entertainment, also added a talent booking division, and took his talents to Los Angeles to tap into the TV and film industry. While in LA he secured two degrees from The Los Angeles Film School, while still DJing and writing music on the side. With a strong resume and long lists of resources, during his stay in LA he also worked with artists like Ginuwine, Kenny Lattimore, Teairra Mari, Eric Bellinger, Willie Taylor(Day26), Marques Houston, Q Parker(112) and many others, handling bookings, road management, and DJ duties.

Continuing to build his management/label brand, Armah signed singing sensation Karlos Farrar, and they released his debut album in 2017 “A Karlos Farrar Story“. Fast forward to 2020, with covid shifting the music industry, and the continued social injustice towards blacks in the US, Armah decided to dive into writing on a more deeper level, and on September 4, 2020 released the single “Am I Next” from his his mixtape 20 / 40 Take It Back (The Journey) that was released on November 6, 2020. The Mixtape takes you on his journey as a rapper, and gets you familiar with him as an artist, and prepares you for his debut album featuring singles like “Get That‘” and “Hey”, which was also recently released from the album, which is titled 20 / 40 Better Late Than Never, scheduled for a January 22, 2021 release.

The journey truly continues, and Armah has a lot in store. Follow his new musical journey via @ArmahMusic on social media, and all music streaming platforms.

“Armah is about to shake up the hip-hop scene with his grit and next level lyrics”
