“Skiidd” is a new face in the hip hop community. Using inspiration from “nu-metal” bands such as Korn and System Of A Down and fusing it with the sound of the 90’s “Phonk” scene to create sinister & sincere instrumentals. With the right artists, this can create a formula for music that will make listeners head bang and simultaneously perk an ear for the thought provoking subject matter.

Coming from the Northern Peace Region of BC, Canada, “Skiidd” grew up listening to rock and metal, particularly when nu metal was in its peak;
bands such as Evanescence, Korn, Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace among other bands of different rock / metal genres.
Despite the minimal exposure to rap, he discovered his interest in hip hop during high school, finding a liking to a variety of acts such as the Southside’s Geto Boyz, east coast’s Mobb Deep, and west coasts’s N.W.A., etc.
With both genres acting as influences, “Skiidd” is creating aggressive and deeply felt instrumentals through harsh guitar riffs, haunting samples as if a fever dream, and phonk’s signature trap drums with added groove reminiscent of the nu-metal’s funk-derived rhythms.
